Established in 2005, the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation is run by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) as a part of a wider strategy to conserve and promote the citys cultural heritage. Located right next to Qasr al-Hosn (or the Al-Hosn Palace) the Foundation is housed in a modern complex of exquisite traditional Islamic design, with arched columns, large courtyards and landscaped gardens. Within the complex is contained the National Library and Archives as well as assorted cinemas, theatres, lecture rooms and an exhibition center which feature a yearly roster of international film festivals, art and history exhibits and literary workshops. The Al Hosn Palace is also affiliated with the institution and contains the Center for Documentation.
