Acer Pc Support - Restoring System Without System Recovery Cd

Most Acer desktop, laptop and PC's come without a system recovery CD during purchase

. You would need to specifically request Acer PC Support for the recovery CD and purchase it separately. However, if the need of system restore arises, you will be able to handle it if your Acer PC hardware still has its original configuration (particularly HDD). This is because in your Acer computer, the HDD has two visible and one hidden partition. The visible partitions are ACER(drive C) ad DATA(drive D). The hidden partition by Acer is called PQSERVICE. It cannot be accessed directly within Windows. This partition contains the original factory configuration copy of your Windows. This Acer eRecovery System will use this data. Therefore, if the HDD from Acer Support has been replaced by an HDD that does not come via Acer, then this hidden partition won't be there. Thus, Acer eRecovery procedure would not be of help in restoring your system.

The first step is to make a backup before conducting the system restore procedure. This is very important, particularly for your C drive. Because, your C drive would be leaned up completely on conducting the system restore procedure. However, if you store all important files and programs in D drive, then you can proceed with System Restore.

Please remember that the main trick to system restore is Alt+F10 key. When your computer has been turned on, steadily hold the Alt key and continuously press the F10 key until the Acer eRecovery System runs. Please note that you may need to do this a number of times. The Acer eRecovery System takes a while to load. After you enter the Acer eRecovery System, you will have three or more options.

In case you haven't done any backup, then you need to choose Restore system to factory default. This will restore the system to the state it was at the time of purchase. Thus, all installed programs and files will be removed along with the malware, adware, virus, Trojan Horse, etc. However, this means that you would need to re-install all the programs you had once again. That may take more than a couple of hours.

On selecting the option, the eReovery system would begin the process. Then, you would need to restart you system and the Windows setup will begin. Never turn off your computer during the setup.

In case you have a backup, you will get other options to restore the system. This system restore procedure also fixes crashes caused by hardware problem. If such crashes are not fixed after system restore, you may need Acer PC Support.
