Acura Manufacturer

I remember when I was in elementary school, my Mom had an Acura - I think she had

2; she got tired of the other one so she got the newer one - but thats not important! The fact of the matter is that Acuras are good cars and are pretty reliable.

The U.S. was first introduced to Acura in 1986. The first car was the Acura Integra; if you look at the 1986 Acura Integra Rims , youll see that it only had 2 options available: the OE Alloy Wheels & the Factory Steel Rim. Anyway, Acura was developed & manufactured as the luxury side of Honda. It was first introduced to North America because Japan pretty much forced Voluntary Export Restraints for the U.S. markets. Therefore, they had an opportunity to export more expensive cars & eventually, make more money.

Mexico had Acura in 2004 & China had it in 2006. They have been meaning to introduce Acura to the Japanese market, but they have been delaying it for the longest time. It was supposed to be introduced in 2008, but then pushed it back to 2010. After that announcement, the CEO of Honda said that they actually had no idea when they were going to release it to Japanese manufacturers.

After doing a decade of research, Honda released & established 60 Acura dealerships in North America. If you didnt already know, Acura was actually the first Japanese brand that was introduced to the U.S. The first Acura models released were the Integra & the Legend. The Legend was built kind of like the Honda Accord & the Integra from the Honda Quint; which was a hatchback. If you compare the 1986 Acura Legend Rims & the 1986 Honda Accord Wheels youll see that they almost have the exact same wheel. The only big difference is that the Accord Wheel is smaller & has more spokes than the Original Rims that come on the Legend. After some automobile manufacturers saw that Acura was doing so well, Toyota decided to come up with Lexus & Nissan with Infiniti. Monkey see, monkey do right?

Anyway, 5 years after they released the Legend & the Integra, Acura came out with the NSX. It was V6 powered & was a rear-wheel-drive car; which means that the Alloy Wheels looked pretty nice. NSX stood for New Sports eXperimental, it was pretty popular because manufacturers said that it was the first Japanese car that can actually compete with Porsche & Ferrari. Whats really interesting was the NSX was the first all-aluminum production car and was known to be the everyday super car since it was very luxurious & you can take it anywhere. After it was released, Acura introduced something called the A-Badge which was a certain type of styled drafting compass that showed all Acura vehicles were made to live up to a certain expectation.

Even if it came off to be a strong start, it suffered from lack of sale in the mid 90s. The main reason was because consumers decided that their styles werent as strong & appealing as they used to be when they first came out. The only real thing that saved them from being in debt were the people that decided to tune up the car. Of course, I dont think they replaced any of the OE Acura Wheels on them, like the 2004 Acura TL Rims because theyre too nice to give up, dont you think?
