World number 1, as per US News, Stanford Graduate School of Business is inviting
Applications for MBA Program for the class of 2014 (Entering fall 2012). Applications are invited in 3 rounds. The date for the 1st round was 12th October 2011. Dates for Round 2 and Round 3 are 11th Jan 2012 & 4th April 2012 respectively. As per Stanford GSB, one can apply in any of the rounds. But Round 2 has become bigger & more competitive over the years. One should never rush his/her application unless one is satisfied with the application. But applying early has advantages such as more time to pursue aid award, ample time to complete preliminary coursework, sufficient time to complete visa formalities etc.
GMAT Test is required for admission to the MBA Program. Although GRE including GRE revised General Test is also accepted as an alternative. There is no minimum GMAT Test score for Stanford GSB (However, in 2011, the average GMAT Score was 730 ranging from 580 to 790), but GMAT Test must be taken before the application submission and GMAT Score must be valid on the deadline date of the Round one is applying in. If one has taken GMAT Test multiple times, then report only that GMAT Score which one wants to be considered.
Although high GMAT Score does not guarantee a birth, but an average GMAT score does strike off any possibility for the same. Although, GMAT score is not the only criterion for the admission, but it still plays an important role in judging the candidate. One must take the GMAT Preparation seriously and try to attempt as many GMAT Online Tests for a solid GMAT Preparation. The best strategy is to take GMAT Test well in advance so that the scope is left to improve GMAT Score by taking GMAT Test once more.
The total yearly intake in Stanford GSB is around 390. The fee for the MBA Program is $87,000 for the first year. The average salary offered to Stanford graduate is around $120,000 excluding bonus and other benefits of $45,000. The average work experience of the class is around 48 months. Stanford GSB was ranked no.1 by US News among all B-schools world over. The ranking is based on a weighted average of indicators such as Recruiter assessment score, Mean starting salary & Bonus, Employment Rates, Mean GMAT Score etc.
