I treat Google Adsense like a business. Because i put my heart and soul into my sites. Once you build a site your married to it.
Adsense is not a get rich quick scheme. You have to build a lot of content, learn how to SEO your pages, and advertise your blog or website. The bottom line in order to make any money with Adsense you have to drive traffic to your site and that takes a lot of good marketing skills. If your not able to generate at least a couple hundred visitors to you site, it is just a waste of time.
Visitors are not going to stumble upon your site or blog, because you created one. It's not like having a table at a craft show and you know people are going to walk by your table and look at your stuff. You have to work hard and do a lot of marketing and researching on topics that relate to your site.
The Internet is a lot different
Visitors will find your site on search engines, forums and message boards. Of course you have to post on forums and message boards and submitting your site on the search engines. Search engines will only recommend sites that provide useful information that are relevant to the keyword search.
Google recommends sites by their rankings. When a site is ranked #1 for a certain keyword phrase in Google. It helps when other related and authority sites are linked to your site from a certain phrase your used for your site. An Authority site is when a site is popular by Google because of high traffic and quality inbound links(sites link to you).
If you have a website about wedding cakes then it would be beneficial to be recommended by a popular site that has the same related topics as you do on your site. Google ranking formula for ranking sites is to calculate how many links and certain keywords are related to a certain site.
For example, If site #1 is linked to site #2 that means in a search engine that means site #1 thinks that site #2 is very useful. In other words, It's like getting votes to you site that Google sees and will post site #2 on top of the search engine.
That's the importance of building a site that offers a great deal of information on a specific topic.
