While it reaches the masses more with those facing economic hardship, adult literacy does occur throughout the country in all areas.

Adults that cannot read are not smart. Again, MYTH! Many adults that cannot yet read are extremely intelligent but for whatever reason, they have been able to make it to adult hood without learning to read.

Resources to help adults learn to read are limited and childish. MYTH!! The resources that are available now for adults to learn to read are fantastic. From books geared toward adult literacy, computer software to experience professional adult literacy tutors; the amount and quality of resources that are available are diverse and very accessible.

It is never too late to learn to read. Whether you have a friend or relative that can help or you wish to seek out an adult literacy tutor, you will be glad that you did and learning to read will open a whole new world of opportunity for you.
