However, there are several disadvantages of condominiums that makes houses more efficient. One is that condominium units are usually not appropriate with bigger families, mostly with more than 2 children or with extended families. This is because condominiums are usually smaller, which makes houses more popular because of its size.

Another disadvantage that allows houses to be at an advantage is its monthly fees. Other than the combination of monthly mortgage, insurance, property tax payments, electric and water bills, condominiums would usually involve paying a monthly fee for the maintenance of the condominium.
