Affiliate Recruitment - How to Sign Up New Affiliates
Recruiting a very large number of affiliates into your program normally takes time and patience
. You don't have to have an army of affiliates to make a great income from an affiliate program. Just one or even a few affiliate partners can bring you great profits if they have the right influence on their (and your) target market.
Recruiting affiliates often includes as much marketing as you would do to sell your product.
There are so many affiliate programs out there you really need to convince people WHY they should choose your program and not another.
Here are some ways you can begin to find and recruit new affiliates into your program.
Short-Term Plans:
Contact Current Customers or Clients - They already know how wonderful your products and programs are. They can offer first-hand testimonials to other potential customers or clients. Now you need to bring your customers on board as affiliates who can earn a commission for doing something they are probably already doing -- telling people about your program.
Contacts for JV - Contact people you have connections with and ask them if they would consider doing a joint venture. Offer them a discount on the product membership price for their list only or some kind of special add-on that no one else will get.
Free Access - If possible, you'll want to give affiliates free access to your product so that they can see for themselves the quality of what they're promoting. Free access works well with membership sites, where you can give them a month's access for free. But if you have a one-time product like an ebook or a physical product then you obviously don't want to give every affiliate a free product.
You will want to offer free access to those with great influence and a large following because these are people you really want to love your affiliate program.
Email Members & List - If you already have a mailing list then this is a great place to start looking for affiliates, as well. You've been building a relationship with those on your list and they know what you have to offer. It should be an easy decision for them since they wouldn't be on your list if they didn't believe in what you have to offer.
Long-Term Plans:
List in Affiliate Directories - This can bring some traffic over time from people who are looking for affiliate programs to promote.
Seek Out Affiliates - Look for affiliates in Google, Major Article Directories, Clickbank, AdWords, Affiliate Forums, and Other Major sites you know of.
Articles - Write original articles and find authority sites or blogs who would be willing to publish them. These articles would be related to using affiliate programs to earn an income online or topics that will attract potential affiliates such as making money with 'your topic' related affiliate programs. You can also submit articles to any of the hundreds of article directories for more exposure and possibly links back to your affiliate program.
Ads - Consider placing some ads in affiliate newsletters or on targeted websites. Consider testing out ads on Google AdWords.
