Aluminum Flagpoles - Deluxe Series

Internal halyard system type flagpoles have become increasingly popular over the last decade

. These poles have all significant mechanical parts installed on the inside of the flagpole shaft, hence the title "internal system." An internal halyard pole is offered with the commonly known cam cleat or winch with removable handle, or the Colonial V-Cleat, the latest in halyard technology.

The so called "deluxe" internal halyard flagpoles are offered with a self-locking winch system. This system is installed on the inside of the pole shaft and only operates with a removable handle. Since the handle is removable, additional security is automatically offered through this system. As a steel halyard unwinds from the winch, it passed through the inside of the flag pole, over the revolving truck (included with these flagpole types) to the outside of the pole where a retainer ring provides a dynamic anchor.

Most flagpole types include a counterweight as part of the kit that is included with new flagpoles. For the deluxe flagpole series, the weight is coated substantially with neoprene. Neoprene is used in a wide variety of different applications, such as notebook sleeves, electrical insulation, liquid and car fan belts. The counterweight is attached to the above mentioned retainer ring, which allows for flags to be lowered without much effort.

These poles are manufactured from the aluminum metal, which requires a minimal amount of maintenance. Some consistent cleaning of the flagpole shaft can prevent staining and rusting. Lengths range anywhere from 20 ft to a maximum height of 80 ft.

According to manufacturers specifications, certain deluxe flagpoles can fly flags up to 120+ miles per hour. This particular ability is dependent on flagpole length (which includes exposed height or height of the flagpole above ground level), diameter of the shaft and wall thickness.
