Students have nothing similar with alumni except for the educational establishment. However, after a thorough consideration you can see many features in common. If you are a member of a fraternity in university, then you will probably become a member of an alumni association in terms of fraternities and sororities division. Though not all universities have extended types of alumni associations, you can create a specific division of an alumni association to include members of a fraternity. In this respect, the members of a fraternity can find somebody with whom they are familiar after graduation.

Importance of alumni associations

The most important function of alumni associations is that they can provide the current students with some assistance in all respect. Different events and competitions can be held under the auspices of alumni association members. Different fellowships are organized after graduation to provide students with some help in terms of internship program vacancies, organization of events, and information about the university life in publications. Student media can be considered another division of alumni associations.
