A key benefit of plasma displays is the fact that a very wide screen can be produced

by using very thin materials (as opposed to the bulky CRTs) and as each pixel is lit individually the resultant image is bright and looks good even at very wide viewing angles.Plasma screens can also be hung on the wall of the owners house (with proper fitting!) which make a massive diffference to the aesthetics of a room, compared to the older CRT televisions which could take up half a room! It is worth noting that there are advantages and disadvantages of the technology when compared to the latest lcd televisions however that is outwith the scope of this article and widely covered elsewhere.
