Angora Rabbit Care – Caring for the Cute Bunnies

Angora Rabbit Care Caring for the Cute Bunnies

I can honestly bet taking care of rabbits is fun; therefore, I bought a pair from a rabbit rescue center. That way, I was able to get them for a lower price and I was also able to help the cause.

I decided to take 2 rabbits that were already bonded together because I was told that it is dangerous to join 2 rabbits that do not know each other in a cage. There is a tendency that they will fight and might even kill each other.

Since this is my first time, I carefully gathered enough info about Angora rabbit care. Most of these materials came from the rabbit rescue center. On the other hand, I also used the internet to know more about the dos and don'ts of caring for Angora rabbits.

They are really not that difficult to care for; in fact, they do not need vaccinations. Feeding them will not burn a hole in your pocket. Their clean and matt-free fur really delights me and I really enjoy grooming it. I brush it thoroughly and lovingly at least twice a week.

I let them live in a spare bedroom inside my house. I don't want to place their cage outside the house for fear that they might get preyed on by some of the stray animals out there.

The cage I gave them was custom-built. I asked my husband to make it for them to ensure that it will have the specifications that I want. First and foremost, I want to be careful with their feet. Some cages in the market are not suitable for rabbits because they can hurt their feet. Moreover, they tend to be too small or too big for the fellows.

I also don't want to have a hard time cleaning their droppings; hence, I told my husband to leave a space for a movable plastic drop pan. I would place a page of an old newspaper there and remove it once my little friends drop their stools.

To keep them healthy, I feed them regularly with commercial rabbit pellets that are protein rich.
