Apple Using Applied Industrial Design To Great Effect With Iphone
Technology giants Apple has managed to shock the world once more with its latest invention the iPhone 4
. Apple CEO Steve jobs recently commented onstage that the new generation smart phone is scheduled to expand the market by as much as they did when they released the original iPhone. That is a very bold statement to make, but Apple CEO jobs isn't in the habit of telling huge lies just to make sales, he has a proven track record and impressive sales statistics backing him up as well as the ground breaking applied industrial design of the Apple workforce to back his claims up.
One of the fantastic pieces of applied industrial design which has made the new iPhone 4 such a ground breaking piece of equipment is the aluminium casing which apple have managed to utilise to amplify the signal received to the device. The company has utilised aluminium before when constructing the Macbook Pro laptop and it seems that Apple have decided to use several of their ground breaking applied industrial design techniques on the phone as it is fronted by glass on the front and back.
On the inside Apple shows that it is listening to the consumers as it has installed both and front and rear facing camera that will allow people to perform video conferencing over their mobile phone. The company has utilised clever applied industrial design and have managed to integrate this with some excellent software packages that will allow users to take part in what they have called FaceTime.
Another example of the work the applied industrial design team have worked on behind the scenes comes from within whereby the company has managed to manufacture a smaller but more powerful processing chip, whilst at the same time increase the size and capacity of the battery. It has been stated that the new phone will have up to 2 hours of extra battery time over the 3GS version of the iPhone.
The new iPhone is scheduled for release at the end of the month and as usual when Apple products first hit the shops there is expected to be a mad rush of people queuing outside the shops to be the first to get their hands on the new product. Apple recently overtook Microsoft in the success stakes and if the new generation iPhone manages to outmanoeuvre the android then who know where Apple will be in the next decade.
