Are Self Cleaning Litter Boxes True Self Cleaners?

Over the years I have seen many would be cat owners shy away from having one or more

of the finicky and furry felines because of a disdain for cleaning litter boxes, and there are many different manufactures that claim to have a self cleaning cat box, but what are the facts about these products that are advertised as self cleaning.

The facts are that there is no 100% self cleaning litter box, but they can self clean to different degrees depending on which one you are looking at. The downfall of the better ones that have the best solutions and almost total self cleaning, Price! These self cleaning kitty drop zones can cost anywhere from 50 dollars to over $250 bucks, but at least it is not throwing money down the toilet if you take a closer look.

A decent bag of cat litter can cost anywhere from 7 bucks to an excess of 20 dollars, and you still have to use the scoops, change the litter at least once a week, clean the litter box and then replace the litter. This can total over 300 dollars a year if you like the better litters on the market that helps you control odor.

The money is just part of the cost, having to deal with cat poop is another reason to get a better cat box that has less waste and helps to eliminate that foul odor that keeps many cat fans from being cat owners. Pregnant women cannot afford to have contact with litter boxer either because of the health risk associated with cleaning these stinky little poop portals for cats.

Self cleaning at 100% will probably never be attained when it comes to litter boxes, but even with higher prices for the better ones. It may end up just as cheap to buy the most expensive ones to cut down on waste of litter while making the process much easier when it comes to what you physically must do to maintain a cat box.

If you are looking to save money and labor, while giving your furry friend a clean place to do its business, you may want to take a serious look at today's automated or at least semi-automated litter boxes and make life better for you and your cat. And if you are an expecting mother, it would be the wisest decision you could make for the health reasons for your soon to be newborn and soon after that, the toddler that is soon to follow.
