Are There Differences Between Fedex And Small Courier Company?

When you're trying to choose what type of courier company you want to do business with

, there are several things that you need to take into consideration. The truth is that any local Miami courier service is going to have different things to offer than their competitors, but as a class, there are a few things which differentiate smaller local courier companies from the multi-national giant companies like FedEx.

These differences don't make either of these types of companies better than the other. In fact, their differences prove that both are good types of companies to do business with, because they both have elements of the delivery industry which they are very good at. After examining these types of companies though, it is going to be up to you to decide which type is going to be more useful to your company, based on your delivery needs.

The primary strength of a company like FedEx is that they are equipped to make deliveries to the entire world. They have the ability and the infrastructure to ship goods to every single country on the planet. Any business which needs to ship goods to the far reaches of the earth is going to be better served by having a courier company they can work with that is equipped the way FedEx is for international shipping.

Smaller companies on the other hand, tend to have the edge when it comes to providing the best possible service within their service areas. They are very familiar with the area and have great business relationships with other local businesses. They often can provide you with lower rates and faster service when you are only having deliveries made within your city.

Although it is an oversimplification, the truth is that the large companies like FedEx are sometimes better suited for doing business with huge companies, while smaller companies are better suited to working with small companies. Smaller companies survive by forming strong business relationships, which is very possible when working with a smaller courier company. A huge international company though may have courier needs which can't be met by the limited number of vehicles and available drivers within smaller courier companies. Also, if you need to ship internationally frequently, the smaller couriers end up giving the shipments to FedEx to ship overseas anyway, so it can save you money to cut out the middle man and do business with them directly.
