Are Those Experts Worthy Of Trust?

The expert is someone widely recognized as a reliable source of technique or skill

whose faculty for judging or deciding rightly, justly, or wisely is accorded authority and status by their peers or the public in a specific well-distinguished domain. Nowadays, people rely much on the experts wide and profound knowledge of certain area, such as share markets, health conditions and social events. But I still doubt whether those experts are worthy of trust.

For one thing, some of those so-called experts dont grasp enough expertise and to some degree, they tend to be a little bit foolish. The grave earthquake in Japan caused great damage to the nuclear station and nuclear radiation became a serious problem around the world. Some experts immediately announced that salt can protect us from nuclear radiation. Are those words from the experts worthy of trust? Of course not. After we figured out those stupid leis, we couldnt help laughing at those experts, or even ourselves for once having believed the nonsense. But those trustworthy experts caused great panic and social disturbance after all.

For another, some of those so called experts are driven by their own interests rather than a sense of morality or social responsibility. Take experts of share markets for example. A lot of TV programs about share markets are held by some experts, who take advantage of peoples trust to make big fortune by persuading them to buy a certain share. Those experts assure people that they will get more money back. But after the share price drops, they will explain their mis-prediction in the words such as to my surprise accidently out of control unexpected etc. They seldom apologize for the loss the ordinary audiences suffer because of following their advices.

As far as I am concerned, those irresponsible and inexperienced experts are not worthy of trust. In modern times, experts play important roles in peoples daily life because people believe that knowledge is power. They follow the experts advices to do what they think is good for them. Some people pretend to be experts to make money and their improper behaviors or words make our whole society in a terrible situation. Day by day, people become doubtful of these so-called experts because they get hurt after they follow the experts. Experts are not that omnipotent as we imagine, but they are expected to, with their knowledge, help the public to solve some problems.
