Artie Lange Tickets - Funny With A Chance Of Rain

Comedy may be all laughs for those in the audience

, but sometimes it can be a different story backstage. Countless comedians over the years have revealed that they struggle with substance abuse, depression or both, and Artie Lange can count himself in the "all of the above" category. Even with his troubles, he is widely known as one of the funniest men in shock comedy.

For many of the top comedians out there (i.e. John Belushi and Chris Farley), a hard-hitting lifestyle is what keeps them getting rave reviews on the comedy stage. His reputation has made Artie Lange tickets top sellers no matter where he travels, and fans can get their tickets online.

Comedians are also interesting in the fact that (unlike other celebrities) they often flaunt their vices and use them as part of their routine. Artie Lange practically made a career out of this type of comedy, getting laughs with his jokes about his overeating, drug abuse, alcohol use and dysfunctional relationships. His substance abuse may have hit a breaking point recently, though, because the management at Sirius XM, the company that puts on Howard Stern's show, requested that Lange stay home from work to deal with his demons. For fans who want to see him around a lot longer, let's hope that Lange is able to come back stronger than ever.

Howard Stern may be a well-known name in shock-jock radio comedy, but his star definitely got a boost when he discovered the talents of Artie Lange in the late 1990s. Even from a young age, Lange had high hopes for his comedy career. He was raised in New Jersey and has kept ties to his home state and old friends even with his rising fame. In a recent interview with NJ.com, he revealed some of his early influences: George Carlin and Richard Pryor.

In fact, it was Carlin and Pryor who made him think about actually performing standup. He told NJ.com, "To tell you the truth, I always wanted to be a sketch comedian and a comedy actor. But the thing that really made standup look like fun to me was Richard Lewis' first special on Showtime." Standup wasn't hit only success, and he started gaining television exposure in the mid-'90s as one of the original members of the Fox television show Mad TV. His friendship with comedian Norm MacDonald led to him showing up on the Howard Stern Show. He was such a great fit during the one appearance in 1998 that he was asked to join the cast in 2001.

Even with his busy schedule with Howard Stern, Lange has found time to take on other projects. Lange has been a favorite pick for many Comedy Central roasts and also appeared on films like The Bachelor, Old School and Elf (as the fake store Santa). In 2008, he released his first book, called Too Fat to Fish, which made the New York Times bestseller list. In November of 2009, he released his first comedy CD, Jack and Coke.
