Powered by a pretty nifty 600MHz processor and sporting an Android platform the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini is quite an impressive little device

. It boasts a very responsive 2.6 inch touch screen and utilises the highly ambitious TimeScape interface. The X10 Mini has been equipped with a digital camera, music player, GPS and FM radio and additional features can be added via the Android Market.

As a smaller version of the Xperia X10, the X10 Mini is naturally good looking, the screen is very bright and manages to display over 16 million colours in a 240 x 320 pixel format. The screen technology includes resistive touch technology which is ample considering the screen size and an accelerometer for on-screen interface rotation. Sony Ericsson has produced the phone in a wide range of tasteful colours including pink for the ladies and lime for the crazies.

On-screen Sony Ericsson has provided a useful four-corner home screen which has tabs in each corner where you can place shortcuts to your favourite applications. Despite the fact that the TimeScape UI has been trimmed down for the X10 Mini it still delivers reasonable social network features and colourful, modernized menus. You still get the chronological streams of tweets, status updates, messages and mail in a single TimeScape application so all is not lost.

The processor allows for great multi-tasking opportunities while the phones Android base means there is a rich collection of Google based applications which apply themselves in various fields of the X10 Mini's interface. Google Search delivers advanced search results while GoogleMaps plays its part in getting users from A-B and back. X10 Mini users can also utilise the Gmail and GoogleTalk features for communicating with friends.

Thanks to the phones 3G connection and Wi Fi receiver things like web surfing and social networking are entirely possible, managing your Facebook of Twitter accounts is a quick and simple process and can be done while simultaneously performing other tasks. The WebKit browser can save bookmarks and the in-browser controls are very easy to use. User can link up the X10 Mini to there PC via USB and it can connect with Bluetooth friendly devices.

A highly capable 5MP digital camera has been thrown in for the happy-snappers and budding film makers, while full YouTube integration allows users to upload the videos for the world to see. The phones sharing facilities also incorporate the likes of Facebook and Twitter. The video player plays videos and the music player plays music, simple. The phones memory can be upgraded with a microSD card but the limit is 16GB, but that will provide plenty of storage for tunes and videos. Sony Ericsson has also provided a handy 3.5mm audio jack so users can plug in there headphones.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini has a mighty long name when you consider its small size. Much like a puppy the phone is hard to put down once you have started playing with it, it is just so damn cute. The Android OS ensures things run smoothly while the TimeScape overlay paints a pretty picture on the vibrant 2.6 inch display.
