Information: used to indicate identity and territory

In humans, the sex pheromones are the chemicals that are typically regarded as the love pheromone. Now, this does not mean that the human body contains chemicals that make you fall in love, but studies do suggest that boosting these chemicals can improve your ability to attract a mate. Furthermore, studies actually show that the proper scent, when worn by a man, can boost his mate's fertility, regulate her menstrual cycle, increase frequency of physical touch, and even reduce the symptoms of menopause.

Unfortunately, because of hygiene requirements and preferences in today's world, many of these chemicals are washed away before they can reach their intended target. The natural scent provided by human pheromones is now hidden by the wrong kinds of artificial perfuming in hand and body soaps, laundry detergents, and other cleaners. This is one of the fundamental components of perfume and cologne, which attempts to not only restore some of these natural odors, but also enhance them in a way that attracts members of the opposite sex.
