Audi Rs5 Wins Auto Bild Award
Audi has been producing the A5 since 2007, in Audis line up it fits between the A4 and A6
. Initially the A5 was released as a coupe; it is now available as a convertible as well as a 5 door fastback model. The A5 is Audis third coupe along with the Audi TT and the supercar R8. Along with the A5 Audi also unveiled the S5, which has the Quattro all wheel drive system, it has a 4.2 litre V8 FSI engine producing 354 bhp.The latest variant of the A5 is the RS5, Audi decided to produce the RS5 after it removed its philosophy of only ever producing one RS model at a time. The RS5 comes with a natural aspirated 4.2 V8 which produces 444bhp. The RS5s V8 is a reworked version of what has been used in the RS4 and R8.
The A5 range of models have proven to be very successful for Audi, the RS models on sale at the moment have also proven to be a great success. 68,132 readers of Auto Bild SportsCars just awarded the Audi RS5 Coupe with the title SportsCar of the Year for 2010 in the Production Coupes category.
The RS5 was not the only Auto Bilds award winner for Audi, the Audi R8 GT won second place in the Production Supercars category, the Audi R8 Spider 5.2 won second in Production Convertibles, the Audi S3 Sportback got third in the Production Compact Cars class and the Audi RS 6 Avant also took third in Production Station Wagons.
An Audi dealer in Bury St Edmunds said, Being a German magazine Auto Bild is usually a good voice for the German car buyer, the fact that they have chosen Audi models over BMW and Mercedes models goes to show that Audi has done well in winning over its home market.
