Australia breaks in the New World Order
Julia Gillard's recent election victory in Australia or more specifically Tony Abbott's
election loss in the 2010 Australian election broke in a new era, not only for Australia but for the world. For how many years now have we been hearing the phrase "New World Order"? Form being something to be scared of in the 1970's, to being the in-thing to say in the 1980's to being out of fashion from the 1990's to date at least as a phrase.
Over time the New World Order phrase has had many different meanings and values attached to it. But now Australia, or more specifically the Australian people, has (on purpose) heralded in the real New World Order.
You see, The Hon. Julia Gillard, Prime Minister of Australia, is an atheist. Although she never tried to hide the fact, it was still big news when it was mentioned on the ABC's Jon Faine program (28 Sept 2010):
FAINE: "Do you believe in God?"
GILLARD: "No, I don't Jon, I'm not a religious person"
This might come as a big surprise to some, but it would not be the first time that the world has seen an atheist statesman (or in this case stateswoman). After all, we have had Castro, Pol Pot, Lenin, Mao, Stalin and Kim II-Sung to name a few.
The difference between these leaders and Julia Gillard?
To state the obvious; she is a woman. And she was democratically elected and will be democratically disposed of when the time is right. She is the only democratic leader amongst the short list.
The not so blatantly obvious is that she ran against Tony Abbot, the only significant opposition... and a devoted and very public christian. ("I want to stress that I am a christian in politics" - Tony Abbott, Parliament House, 21 Jun 2010, & "Opposition Leader Tony Abbott, a Catholic who once studied to join the priesthood" Sydney Morning Herald, 29 Sept 2010)
And the result of the election? Julia Gillard, the Hon. Prime Minister of Australia, and Tony Abbott not!
At long last the common person on the street has caught up with intellectuals like Freud, Huxley, Shaw and Sartre.
Did the people of Australia vote for Julia Gillard because she is an atheist? Yes a few did. Maybe quite a few. But that's not what heralds the start of the New World Order. See, in Australia, like a few other countries in the word, people sometimes vote leaders out instead of voting a leader in. And that is exactly what has happened in the 2010 election in Australia. People voted to keep Tony Abbott out of office. This man who has openly in parliament voted with is christian conscience'.
Tony Abbot the vocal christian was kept out of the office of Prime Minister by the voting public, much more so than what Julia Gillard was voted in to the office.
So far be it from a situation where we may say that the majority of the people (how ever small that majority is) voted for a leader because she is an atheist. Rather it is a situation where the majority of people voted against an openly christian leader and possible future Prime Minister.
And that is what heralds the true New World Order...
