If you are selling a used car, you will waste your time and money if you put your car on AutoTrader.com. You can reach thousands of customers in your area, not to mention over 15 million shoppers nationally.
I've sold many cars in my time and not only do I sell them fast using AutoTrader, I sell the call for much more money than I would otherwise. I get people driving hundred miles sometime to come and look at the car. I can usually sell my car for the same retail price a dealership charges or close to it.
I try listing the car on craigslist and free websites but I just don't get any nibbles, especially when the car is kind of expensive. If you are selling a $2000 car than I recommend that you just use craigslist or ask around among your friends and family.
