Automation entails a lot of advantages but we also have to remember that there may also be a lot of disadvantages. One of the major reasons on why companies start to implement automation is for them to save more money when it comes to labor expenses. Hiring a lot of manual laborers may be expensive than just implementing automation to do their parts. Automation may be costly when implement at first but that is the only time that the company will spend that much. The company just needs to maintain the automated machineries from time to time. Unlike when the company hires people, it needs to pay these people on a fixed basis.
This is one of the reasons on why the unemployment rate goes up. We can say that the employment rate is also dependent on whether a certain company would implement automation or not.
Automation in manufacturing processes will bring accuracy and precision to every products being produced. This we cannot achieve by just manual labor. Not to mention that automated systems produce more products at a given time as compared to manual labor.
The implementation of automation should be thought by the company carefully. Automation is here so that we may be able to live better lives. If automation will be used the right way, it may bring efficiency and create substantial changes in our day-to-day processes. Automation can actually be implemented in many different ways such as in our homes.
