The list will also remind you to buy only the clothes that your children need.

Try to look into your children's closet first before you hit the stores. There might be items that are still in good shape. If your child doesn't want them anymore, you can trade them. There are stores that take slightly worn clothes in exchange for cash or store credits.

Shop around first. Give yourself plenty of time before you plan to buy your children's back-to-school clothing. It will give you enough time to do some window shopping and compare prices from local stores. This will ensure that you are getting that best bargain.

For items they don't need yet, wait to buy them until after the school year starts. Back-to-school sales are great, but you might see that prices are even lower a month or two after school starts. This is when there are overstock items left that must go and retailers get rid of it through clearance sale.
