Nothing beats great storage, or at least that is what my wife tells me. When we bought or house a couple of years back she went through all the rooms looking at how much storage space there was. Too bad she did not do the same for my garage as it is now full of stuff so I decided it was time for my own backyard storage shed. The most important things I wanted in this shed was to be able to access my stuff whenever I needed it. I really did not want to have to pull everything out to get to the stuff in the back so I designed my shed with two set of doors, both in the front and in the back as well. This added to the overall expense and took a bit longer to build but was well worth the investment. There is nothing worse than needing something and not being able to get to it. With two set of doors on each end I no longer had to worry about it. Of course this limited where I could put the structure. Most folks back their shed right up to the property line but I needed to access both ends so I just turned it sideways. It is important to remember to take the necessary time to make sure the ground is level where the shed will be placed. Also, you must create a solid and long lasting foundation. Depending on the size of your building you may need to use a permanent foundation consisting of piers installed below grade level. You also may need to get a permit so check your local building codes as well. One of the best investments I have ever made was in my backyard storage shed. I have plenty of room in my garage now and when I need something I can get my hands on it in no time now because of the easy access.About the Author:
