Galungan & Kuningan:

Every six months in accordance to the Balinese Calender, or each and every 210 days in the International Calender, in Bali you will celebrate a holy day known as Galungan and Kuningan Day. The Hindu individuals in Bali celebrate this victory day of Dharma (Good) vs . Adharma (Evil) The Hindu individuals who reside in the cities should go back to their village of origin to present offerings to their ancestors in their village temples. In all places in Bali, temples are dressed up with bright white and yellow-colored or red material wrapped around their personal shrines as a sign that they are occupied, implying the gods are visiting their descendants.

One day just before Galungan, known as Penampahan Day, is when the Balinese Hindus prepare the offerings like Banten (a particular offering produced from a lot of sorts of flowers, many fruits and cakes) and also prepare traditional Balinese food such as Lawar (exclusive Balinese vegetables and meat mixed with each other in a strong Balinese bumbu (sauce) with fresh chicken or pork blood). Or Sate; grilled blended meat with are bumbu (sauce) threaded on a small stick. The entire family should sit with each other and prepare the celebration. Pork is the most favorite kind of meat that is created in a range of dishes. It is not only to be created for the family menus on the day but also becomes apart of the offering to the temple on the following day. The course of action begins from early morning and is usually finished by noon. Immediately after the family eat lunch with each other, the males of the family will prepare every thing to make Penjors. A Penjor is produced from a clean, bent form, bamboo tree, adorned with a lot of various shapes of young coconut leaves, finished with some seasonal fruit, cakes, banana and coconut decorations.

On the Galungan Day, which is always on a Wednesday, Hindu individuals should go to their temples with each other to give some offerings and pray with each other. Ten days immediately after Galungan Day will be Kuningan Day, a following process after Galungan Day, where the celebration, ceremony and praying need to end just before 12 o'clock.

Tumpek Landep:

Please don't be surprised one day in Bali if you see all the vehicles and motorbikes absolutely adorned by a lot of sorts of shaped young coconut leaves with some colour and flowers on their bumpers, left and right mirrors and some on their wiper blades. This is not a carnival day, but a celebration Tumpek Landep Day. On that day Balinese Hindus celebrate a distinctive ritual for "fortune weapons" - instruments produced from iron; to bring good luck and help the individual in their life. One of these instruments is a kitchen knife, symbolizing the sharpness of our mind which need to be sharpened day to day. Hindus believe that it is not only weapons or sharp things that help their life but also a lot of other things made from iron - also help them, like vehicles and motorbikes. So on this day, vehicles and motorbikes owned by Balinese Hindus are also blessed as a component of this ceremony. If you visit some properties on this day you will see computers, laptops, telephones, washing machines and some other digital equipment can also be blessed as a part of this ritual. The Balinese often bless every thing which is given to them.

Tumpek Kandang:

Animals are also recognised as essential to human life, so the Balinese Hindus also make a exceptional ritual to honor and bless them. The ritual is known as Tumpek Kandang. This ceremony is still held regularly. You will see a cow or pig dressed up with young coconut leaves in a lot of styles and colors, on their horns, ears or their noses - completed with a piece of lush grass on their backs.
