Ball Kid, Anthem Tryouts, Volunteering Among Ways To Get Involved With The Ny Sportimes
The New York Sportimes offer multiple opportunities to get involved with the team this summer
. NY area tennis fans can find some practical, real world experience through volunteering, or may enhance their stage presence by performing live at the team's home World TeamTennis matches next month.

If a fan is an entertainer, singer, or dancer, he/she may get noticed by showcasing those talents at the Sportimes' Pre-Match and Halftime Performances, or by singing the National Anthem. Seasoned veterans and folks who wants to perform in front of a live audience for the first time alike may sign up to audition for the upcoming 2012 season. Applicants will have the opportunity to earn a chance to perform live in front of 2000 fans in attendance and to be on the court with tennis superstars including John McEnroe, Martina Hingis, and Andre Agassi. The Monday, June 18, auditions are set for 6:30 p.m. (National Anthem) and 7:15 p.m. (pre-match, halftime) at Sportime Randall's Island Stadium. Experience in performing or singing is required.
Now is the chance to be a Ball Kid for the upcoming 2012 season. Ball Kids play an essential role during matches and are a great part of the show. Those chosen will have the opportunity to be on the court during WTT matches and be up close and interacting with tennis legends. Familiarity with tennis and experience as a Ball Kid is preferred, but not required. Tryouts for the Upcoming 2012 Season are on these two dates at Sportime Stadium:
Saturday, June 16, 11 a.m - 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, June 20, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
(Applicants only need to attend one tryout)
Volunteering is a great way to to get involved and participate as a team member in a fast paced environment and assist in game operations. Applicants will have the opportunity to be hands on and actively involved with the staging of an exciting professional tennis event. Volunteers are needed for all five home matches on Randall's Island (July 10, 13, 18, 19, 25). Match time for all games is 7 p.m., and volunteer check-in times i 4:45 p.m. It is not necessary or required to volunteer for all home games.
