Bangkok Forensic Science Museum - The Eerie World Of Forensics

Forensics inspects the reasons for death, so victims of murder, road accidents and even explosions are displayed in part to show how their lives were taken. Injuries caused by grenades and machinery can be clearly seen on the severed limbs that are preserved. Several pairs of Siamese twins are also displayed dissected to show the internal organ structures. In keeping with Thai tradition, visitors have left sweets and money as offerings to help their souls in the afterlife. A more sinister display is the mummified body of an infamous serial killer who preyed on children. His body was put on display after his execution as a deterrent from crime.

The featured exhibits are placed in one of the older parts of the hospital which adds to the eerie atmosphere of the museum. The Medical Museum also has sections dedicated to anatomy, pathology, toxicology and Thai traditional medicine. It is a strange yet educational experience that is only a few minutes detour from usual attractions.
