I believe it is impossible to hate anyone if the food is good enough.

They have conversations, get to know each other a little more, and develop understanding of each other as well. This type of event is more important than just eating something delicious with barbecue sauce on it, but helps strengthen the sense of worth to the elderly population that often feels excluded or forgotten. Now you see how powerful a quality grilling sauce can be. It can move mountains and bring people together as well as potentially change lives for the better. Have you ever heard of a jar of mayonnaise doing that? Probably not.
