Thermodynamic traps will lock themselves shut if gas escapes, as well as lock itself to prevent steam from getting out.

Barnes and Jones products have been around since a little before the 1900s. These products were created by two engineers who devised a two pipe layout for heating and central steam systems. Barnes and Jones were noted for having very efficient systems that were quiet and easy to manage. In 1902 the two engineers who started the company created their own improved thermodynamic steam trap.

Barnes and Jones steam traps have come a long way since 1902 and now come in a variety of different items. They now offer repair kits for any mechanical items they sell, and some they dont.
