Barratt Homes Releases New Apartments In Woking This Weekend

Following a period of intense homebuyer demand since the development was launched

just three months ago, Barratt Homes has decided to release the next phase of apartments at New Central, its landmark scheme of new homes in Woking. The new phase, known as Triton, consists of just ten two-bedroom apartments that are being launched this weekend, on Saturday 8th October. The first phase, Callisto, is now 80% sold.

"We are absolutely delighted with the sales success of the apartments at New Central to date and so it's full steam ahead as we try and keep up with the demand," says Lynnette St Quintin, Sales Director at Barratt Southern Counties. "We knew right from the launch weekend in July that demand was going to be high as purchasers couldn't wait to put down their deposits. The two-bedroom apartments have proven particularly popular especially with investors and first-time buyers and I have no doubt that the next phase will sell just as quickly."

The development's prime town centre location makes it an ideal choice for anyone who wants to own their own home in the heart of Woking, close to the shops, restaurants and the station, from where a multitude of regular services put London within reach in around 20 minutes. New Central will eventually have its own gym along with office and retail space and a number of live/work units for the self-employed. For all these same reasons, property investors looking for a buy-to-let opportunity are also keen to purchase at the scheme and can expect rental yields of around six per cent.

First-time buyers may also be able to ease their purchase with FirstBuy, the Government's latest assistance scheme for buyers of new homes. This means that even with a deposit of as little as four per cent of the property price, they could still secure their home with an affordable mortgage, with Barratt Homes and the Homes and Communities Agency jointly contributing up to 20 per cent of the price as an equity loan that is interest-free for up to five years.

One of those quickest off the mark on the first phase is first-time buyer Tas Corbi, who will be moving in to her apartment later in 2011, and who says: "I just love my new apartment, it's everything that I had hoped it would be and more. I work in London and commute from Woking and being so close to the train station is just ideal. I was really lucky to get one of the first properties at New Central and am not surprised that they are selling so quickly. The apartments are really spacious, very well designed and I am really excited about moving in later in the year."
