Living in the south as a homosexual can be an extremely complicated thing. The understanding of equality seems to take a little longer to work its way down to the southern states. There is ignorance and discrimination all over the nation, but the south has always held a label of the top bigots in our country. One may not know exactly how to go about being gay in the south. One may think they need to hide or deny who they are. This should never be the road someone takes. It can be difficult to be a homosexual, but we should always be proud of who we are, and there is no reason to think otherwise.

With the high rate of disapproving views towards homosexuality in the south, one might not be sure where to find those that live the same lifestyle. It is never easy to tell someone that you are gay and making a move on another man may result in a form of embarrassment or possibly worse. However, there are other homosexuals in the south, and they are looking for a partner just like everyone else. There are groups online that are dedicated to the search for a partner. They are sites that are free of the closed mindedness of ignorant individuals, and they are place gay men can go in order to find someone that is perfect for them.

These groups are also great ways to find the areas where other homosexuals may hang out with one another. Homosexuals live normal lives, and the fact they are often pushed to the side when it comes to rights and understanding of their sexual preference is sad.
