Have you been diagnosed with a kidney disease? This can be a very difficult time for you and can be extremely depressing. I was in the emergency room for almost a week and during that time a nephrologist highly encouraged me to get a kidney biopsy to determine if the problem was an acute or chronic kidney disease. I went through the biopsy and since my blood pressure was under control I was sent home with pain medicine and was told to relax until the results were in on the biopsy.

I patiently waited and got a call to go in to discuss the results. I was told at that time I had Chronic Kidney Disease and needed to take blood pressure medicine for the rest of my days. My nephrologist explained that the disease will not cure itself and I needed to change my habits to preserve the remaining kidney function I had left.

As I drove home from the nephrologist I was reflecting on my life and just wished I could do something better. I decided that I am still young and I have alot to live for. I did tons of research on the disease and all the ways to Beat Kidney Disease.

I found a promising guide that explained that you can reverse some of the damage done as long as your kidney function is at least 15% or greater. I had no intentions of getting put on dialysis. That is the last thing that someone with kidney disease would ever want. I was due back in three weeks to draw blood and determine what my kidney function was at. I switched to soda only and ate only purely healthy foods for that time. I sadly did not exercise but I hoped for the best. It turns out that my function had increased by 5% within that small amount of time. I now know that having a kidney disease is not the end of the world. If you are willing to put in the effort to change your eating and exercise habits it will greatly prolong your kidney health and avoid dialysis forever.
