Pickup artists can be easily broken down into two categories

. Each type of pickup artist has a different goal and thus different techniques that are unique to that kind of pickup artist. Although techniques can be modified or custom tailored to what your goal is it can be helpful to figure out ahead of time which category you fall into and then work in becoming skilled in those particular methods or techniques.

The Player The Player is what most people think of when they think of a pickup artist. This is a guy that just wants to play the game. He enjoys the thrill of new women in and out of his life all the time and his skill at picking up women is more of a hobby for him. He may not even know on a daily basis who he might want to target with his outstanding skills at wooing women. On any particular night he might just arrive at his favorite bar or club not knowing who is going to strike his fancy.

Although a player might be looked down upon from other men with more serious intentions and also by the women who fall prey to his advances, a player is usually very charming and easy to like. He is often respected by both male and female friends and if a player really has his stuff together nobody would ever call him a player. Men wish that they had his skills and women wish that they could tame him because they want to posses him and make him their own. He makes everyone feel good when theyre around him, even women who figure out that he is a bit of a player.

The Romantic For lack of a better name we will call this second type of pickup artist The Romantic. This is the guy who has a solid target and goal in mind when he desires to learn about women, what makes them tick and how to pick them up. He has found one woman that interests him who he sincerely wants to start a relationship with. Maybe he has been burned in the past or just doesnt have much luck with picking up women so he wants to improve his skills. Maybe he always winds up being rejected by the object of his desire or winds up being just friends with the women that he falls for.

Either way, The Romantic tends to have the most difficult time in learning how the game works and reaching his goal. Sometimes The Romantic will come on too strong and kill any chance that he has with the woman of his dreams or become over anxious and make his move way before he is ready to jump into the deep end of the pool. Although his intentions might be pure he might be mistaken for a player as he goes from one failed attempt to attract a woman that he truly cares for to another. This type of pickup artist could learn a lot from a player as far as modifying the players methods to suit his own needs.

Which ever category you fall into it should be said that with some patience and knowledge you can reach your goal. Whether you want to become attractive to many types of women or one woman in particular you can improve your chances of success by learning some relationship skills. Learn how the game is played and how women think and feel and you hold a better chance of reaching your goal whether you are a player or a romantic.
