. Deciding which puppy to buy is indeed not that easy. Seeing all those cuddly golden retriever puppies playing around, it is indeed very hard to go home without taking home one. It is a fact that retriever puppies are indeed very charming and irresistible. But you have to stick to the fact that golden retrievers will not stay as a puppy forever. Puppies grow up, and this is where the crunch comes in.

Before everything else, first thing to consider is choosing the right place or person to buy your retriever pup. Uneducated buyers would often go to the nearest pet shops to buy a retriever. However, these buyers do not have any idea where all of these puppies came from. More often than not, these puppies sold in pet shops came from puppy mills, and puppies from puppy mills often have very poor quality. Sad to say, there are really people who breed retrievers just for the sake of money. They just produce puppies without taking into consideration the standard checklist that a reputable retriever breeder must follow, thus they end up producing puppies of very low quality. Some of these puppies even have bad genes which they inherit from their parents.

So if you want to have a retriever in perfect health condition, purchase puppies from private breeders. It is highly recommended that before you purchase a puppy; inspect their parents first because generally, the puppy will inherit the characteristics of their parents. In general, a happy and playful adult retriever will also produce a happy and playful puppy. Private breeders produce a high quality of golden retriever puppies.

Once you have decided which puppy to take home, be prepared for a total riot. Golden pups are the most playful little creatures. Golden pups would play around with anything that moves. They will play with your cushions, shoes, curtains, and generally everything around the house. Golden retrievers are very intelligent; they must be kept occupied at all times so that they will not get bored and frustrated. Little squeaky toys and rag bones can be suitable for golden puppies. You must also remember that retriever puppies love to chew, so be careful if there are little kids around. Those sharp teeth from the goldens tiny mouth can really hurt.

Golden retrievers are highly intelligent dogs, thus, goldens can be trained easily. This makes them the perfect family dog. Originally, goldens are breed to be a rescue dog, hunting dog, and all the other types of service dogs. These traits of the golden retriever can be used as an advantage to train your dog inside the household.
