When a self-learner begins to learn new information it can be overwhelming at first
. The brain is trying to process and remember many new details that it does not recognize. Resistance is encountered at first but remember results is needed and will come in time. As you continue on your journey a routine sets in. At this time you are adding to your knowledge which makes learning easier.
Step 1: Take the initiative; getting started is the hardest part. When you make the decision to take the first step then you are getting on the right track. The next hardest thing is to jump in and take the first step with no hesitation. Start slow gradually moving along and do not rush things. The key is to make a little progress at a time which is better than none at all. Those that try to make strides before they can walk give up before they get started. Begin by taking baby steps and you will be running soon enough.
Step 2: Find resources; when a self-learner decides to get more knowledge trying to find where to get it can be a challenge in itself. If you do not have trustworthy and reliable sources then your time is being wasted. Do not get in a hurry always research the people, books, ebooks, and online websites to make sure they have a good reputation. This will make a difference in the long run and help you gain quality knowledge in a reasonable amount of time. Do not miss this step because it can and will cause you to back track and re-learn everything from scratch.
Step 3: Don't stop; as things get tough and they will, you need to constantly encourage yourself by looking at past accomplishments. Obstacles will get in the way then you will need to figure out how to overcome them. This will make you a better self sufficient self-learner. Being able to learn gives you a sense of pride and keep you making steady progress.
Being a self-learner while following the above steps will make the process easier. But it will be hard continuous work on your part to gain more knowledge. Work those brain cells when you get mentally and physically exhausted because the pay off will be grad. At first while you are training your mind and body it will resist. Give it time and endure through it until it begins to accept the new learning process. A difference will be seen soon.
