Being More Aware Of Disabilities In The Aftermath Of The Paralympics

With the Paralympics in full swing, and the celebration all across the united kingdom

of London being the home of the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, there has never been a better time for British promotion of awareness for people with disabilities. It is an opportunity for people without disabilities to learn about those with, and for those with to learn that they are not alone.

When it comes to living with a disability, it can become increasingly difficult and frustrating. However, with the Paralympics in full swing, the awareness of disabilities has been raised. It has also been a way to put hope and inspiration back in to people with disabilities who were becoming frustrated at things. There are many ways to adapt to a life with a disability, and there are many products out there designed to help.

The levels of activity between people with and without disabilities have seen a rise with the Olympics and the Paralympics. Both events have acted as catalysts to people from all walks of life, to become more active and healthy. This is inspiring movement is something that has swept across the whole nation with ease. More people are choosing the healthier options and taking up exercise, as the madness of the Olympics and Paralympics sweeps over the nation.

With the Paralympics happening and being very successful, there are many different opportunities for people to become more aware of disabilities, and the impacts that they have on peoples lives. Because of this, a lot more people are finding themselves being accepted as people with disabilities, or they are people with disabilities who are finding it more acceptable and easy to be a person with a disability. There are hundreds of places now learning of people with disabilities and the way they can make their lives easier.

Disabilities affect over 10 million people in the United Kingdom, and that does not include carers and family members. This means that there are over 10 million people in the United Kingdom who are in need of more assistance than the rest of them. These people are aware of how difficult their lives can become, and with the Paralympics more people without disabilities are learning or beginning to realise how it is for a person with disabilities to live and go about daily life.

The awareness raised in terms of disability has been great for the charities than are ran for people with disabilities. Whizz-Kidz is an excellent charity based around helping young people with disabilities. Their belief is that all children should be given the opportunity to be exactly what they are, regardless of if they have a disability or not. There are an estimated 70,000 children with disabilities in the United Kingdom who are still waiting for the right wheelchair, one that will give them the abilities to go about life in a usual manner like a child without a disability should be able to do.

Whizz-Kidz is a charity that gives children everything they need and more to be children. They also offer children a wheel-chair training opportunity, where children can go and learn how to better use their wheelchairs and become fully comfortable in navigating their way around in one. This is essential life learning that can help them, and give them the best opportunities when it comes to living life without the drawbacks of being in a wheelchair. Whizz-Kidz believes that teaching children this essential skill can improve their lives dramatically, even though it seems to be such a simple thing to do.

Life skills are also something that the charity offers. This is things like work experience, and volunteering experience, that the children can partake in, to gain valuable life skills and experiences that can later be applied. Doing this for children from a young age, and building their confidence up can help them greatly as they grow older.

There are many charities like this one that exist, and helping them raise the money that is needed to help people with disabilities of all ages, all across the United Kingdom is both important and easy to do.
