Some states are known for a specific capital or other major cosmopolitan region

, but are actually made up of many distinct and interesting parts. This can be true of mirroring northern states on opposite coasts, Washington and New York. In Washington, mountain ranges and vast tracts of natural beauty begin popping up once just outside of Seattle, or the craggy terrain disassembles into picturesque island chains on the northernmost part of the west coast. A similarity in large areas with sparse populations means these two states also share similarities in problem areas that occur when large populations concentrate in one geographic region. To begin with, this geographic area with the large number of people tends to take on the voice of the state. The politics, policies, laws, and economics of the state tend to shift into the heaviest part of the population's haven, leaving the rest of the state's needs largely forgotten at times. Another major problem is the distribution of resources. In the past people were able to draw on the isolation of their community to establish successful businesses like grocer's markets, clothing stores, butcher's shops, farms, and other very specific businesses. Today, with super chains like Wal Mart around, these small 'Mom and Pop' stores are being all but wiped from the face of the Earth, meaning that rural and remote communities will have to look elsewhere for an economic boost. The internet would be the perfect solution, except many of these rural and remote areas are without high speed internet as well. One area where rural and remote communities are making gains is with satellite technology like satellite internet and satellite TV.

When cable television and terrestrial broadband wires and cables don't reach a person's home or community, there is little he or she can do about it. There is no alternative but to petition the local providers to let their companies authorize extending the service to your door step. The process of laying the cables or wires to form the correct infrastructure can be very expensive, and take years to complete. In order to better equip your home or business with services like internet and television in no time, it may be better to stick with services like satellite TV.

With great HD picture and hundreds of channels including perks like 'on demand' and 'pay per view' programming, the benefits of satellite services greatly outweigh those offered by cable TV. Those looking to catch athletic events from all across the country or even all across the world have also learned to trust in satellite TV. The ease of getting someone to come right to your house to complete the professional installation for you might be unheard of when living out in the middle of nowhere, but satellite companies have got the drill down pat. For real selection and service, it's the only way to go for rural and remote New York and Washington customers!
