Boston BMW dealer to offer new 6 Series convertible late this spring

Thus, a visit to your local Boston BMW dealer is in order because everyone knows that spring and convertibles go together like white on rice and your local Boston BMW dealer will just so happen to have the new 2012 BMW 6 Series convertible on the lot this spring. The new vehicle is an old concept featuring updated lines, technology and performance, making it a truly exceptional vehicle.

BMW revealed the new 2012 BMW 6 Series convertible recently at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. Upon first glance one can see that the 2012 model has received updated lines, giving the vehicle a more modern feel while still maintaining the overall classy look that BMW vehicles are known for. Most noticeable perhaps is the trunk of the 2012 6 Series. Pervious models have received harsh criticism for an overly large trunk, but the 2012 trunk is streamlined well into the rest of the vehicle and will likely put any criticism to rest.

Underneath the hood, the 2012 BMW 6 Series convertible, which will be available at your local Rhode Island BMW leasing dealership, sports a 4.4-cylinder V8 with an impressive 400 horsepower. This engine upgrade accounts for 40 more horsepower than its 2011 counterpart and 90 lb-ft of extra torque. The previous six-speed automatic transmission becomes a paddle-shifted eight-speed, but the traditional six-speed manual transmission is still available. The vehicle, despite being capable of impressive performances, still earns a respectable 21 miles per gallon. However, if you choose to show off the vehicle's ability to go from zero to sixty miles per hour in just 4.9 seconds too often, your fuel efficiency will no doubt suffer.

As is expected with any BMW vehicle, the 2012 BMW 6 Series features all of the most up-to-date safety features. For example, the vehicle features a Lane Departure Warning System as well as a Lane Changing Warning System. Accidents will also be prevented with help from the Surround View and Parking Assist features, both of which help drivers see their surroundings better thanks to the help of several cameras on board the vehicle. Finally, a new feature helps drivers see more clearly during nighttime driving and another added feature alerts drivers of pedestrians both in front and on the side of the vehicle in low light conditions.

The interior of the convertible is much like the previous models of the 6 Series convertible. A few extra inches were found for both the front seat passenger and the back seat passengers, however. Additionally, putting down the soft top of the vehicle is now more efficient; it takes just 19 seconds to retract and can do so while the vehicle is moving under 25 miles per hour. Reversing this process takes only slightly longer, at 24 seconds.
