Bradley Center Event Tickets - Great Milwaukee Events To Kick Off 2010

More than likely, it's going to be chilly in the city of Milwaukee this January

, but there are some great events taking place early in the month that you can attend and stay warm at. Sporting events are a great way to inject some excitement into 2010, and there are some great ones coming to Milwaukee this January.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been outperforming preseason expectations to this point of the 2009-10 NBA season, thanks in great part to the stellar play of rookie point guard Brandon Jennings. The Bucks selected Jennings with the 10th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft in the hopes that he could help turn the franchise around. So far, that pick seems to be doing just that.

Jennings was the first top-tier high school player to forgo college ball and head to Europe for a year to play professionally. Since the NBA does not permit the jump straight from high school to the pros anymore, college is largely viewed as the only option after high school.

Jennings, though, decided to go abroad. Though he struggled in the Italian league, Jennings was still a lock for the lottery of the NBA Draft this past June. He did slide down draft boards a bit due to his uneventful season overseas, which enabled the Bucks to snatch him up with the 10th pick.

Jennings has been magnificent through 21 games, averaging 21 points, six assists and four rebounds. The Bucks' future now looks brighter than ever and they seem to again be a competitive team, even with Michael Redd often sidelined with injury. Fans have been clamoring for Bradley Center event tickets all season to see the rookie hit the floor and lead this team.

A victory will not come easily for the Bucks on Jan. 2, though. The team hosts the Oklahoma City Thunder, one of the league's best young teams. The Bucks' biggest challenge will likely be slowing down Kevin Durant, one of the NBA's leading scorers and best overall players. Despite being in only his third season as a pro, Durant has already elevated himself to becoming one of the top offensive threats in the league. The Bucks will have to guard him closely. They'll also have to keep their eyes on Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook.

If you prefer collegiate basketball, then you'll be in for a treat on the 2nd of the month. The Marquette Golden Eagles will host the Villanova Wildcats that night in a big matchup. Lazar Hayward and Jimmy Butler will have to be on top of their game if the Golden Eagles are going to outscore the Wildcats. Villanova is one of the top programs in the nation and boasts senior guard Scottie Reynolds, who will be looking to lead the Wildcats to victory.

If you'd rather see players hit the ice than the hardwood, there is an option for you on the very same night that the aforementioned basketball games are scheduled for. The Merrimack Warriors will face off against the Wisconsin Badgers on Jan. 2 in what should be a fine matchup. The Badgers have looked very good this season and coach Mike Eaves is hoping to lead this bunch to a special season.
