This is, truthfully, what many well-traveled citizens have heard about America while in Europe, Australia, Africa, South America and Asia.

Other country's bad opinions of Americans are hurtful, embarrassing and angers those who find out about it. It's not all their fault though. There is a lot of truth in what they say about us. I'd really like to see America shape up, wake up and take responsibility about how our actions are affecting the planet. Arguing about it does no good. It's obvious we must take a large part of the blame for the way the world's environment is changing for the worse.

Our consumption of energy is, to put it bluntly, out of hand and bordering on ridiculous. We all know very well what we are doing wrong and what we have to do to make it better. Yet, for some reason, we usually don't unless we are left with no other options. Fortunately, the globalization of the media is letting us know, as a nation, that the world is angry with us over our polluting. This fact is finally sinking in with a few of us.

In order to change our consumption and reverse some of the damage done we need to take some drastic steps. Obviously, we need to make our homes more efficient. This is the single most helpful step we can take as a nation to make a difference. Brooklyn AC units have been making waves for their energy efficiency.
