Buffalo Museum Of Science An Educational Adventure For All

Famous for its unique cuisine, the occasional smell of chocolate that hangs in the

Alive with a vibrant community, this urban city is said to have been established by French Settlers in 1758. Believed to have derived its name from the French word beau fleuve which means beautiful river, this enigmatic city is about an eight hour trip from its neighboring giant, New York.

Located in the northeast of the downtown district, the Buffalo Museum of Science is one of the many attractions that draw tourists towards its borders. Designed by August Esenwein and James A. Johnson (architect), the museums architecture displays sleek lines and understated beauty. Its attractions range from animals, science and technology to astronomy.

Established in 1861, it has presented an ever growing array of exhibits and programs. From cyclic patterns of the universe to biodiversity, this museum features a wide scope with something for everyone. An interactive gallery for children between the ages of 2 to 7 enables even the young child to gain knowledge about the world around. Fossils of dinosaurs specimens of which include 50 million year old flowers and birds, are on display at their Dinosaurs & Co. exhibit. The cycles of life in Ancient Egypt displaying artifacts from the banks of the lower Nile River 2,200 years ago is traced at the Whem Ankh. An astronomy gallery and gems and minerals area further make up part of the expansive display of expositions revealed, which makes a visit to this museum a truly memorable and educational experience.
