There are a lot of people who think building a list isn't worth the time or energy. Those same people are leaving massive amounts of money on the table every month and are never able to recover it. Remember, if you build a list, you build your business!

I agree there are many different ways to build your business. But if you want to have stability and be able to sell your product at a whim with just the push of a button, I highly suggest you build a targeted list of hungry, starving people who have a need or a problem you can solve.

It's not rocket science. Why would you want to bypass being able to sell to the same customer over and over again? Instead of just selling a product one time to someone and never seeing them after that, wouldn't you want to double or even triple your profits and have a relationship with your customers? This is how the gurus make a lot of their money.

List Building may take a little more work, but the rewards are very worth it! It doesn't matter which business model you use. You could be promoting CPA products or creating your own e-book. You can even be an affiliate for Amazon. If you are in a market which has a need or want, you can build a highly responsive list that will pay you over and over again!

So what tools do you need to build that list? Below are the elements you need to have:

Squeeze page: This is also called a "landing page" or "splash page." The only thing that will appear on this page will be a headline, some benefits of what you are offering, and a subscription form, along with your signature.

Thank You page: This is the page your new subscriber will be sent to after they opt-in to your list. On this page, you should place the link to the incentive offer. You should also thank your subscribers for opting-in and let them know you will be keeping in touch with them from time to time. Also let them know you have sent an email with the download link to the incentive offer. You can set that up on your autoresponder.

Incentive offer: You need to offer some kind of free product in return for your prospects name and email address. This could be a free report or e-book. You could offer free software. You just need to make sure the incentive is valuable. Don't offer junk or fluff. If you do, people will opt-out as quickly as they opt-in to your list.

Autoresponder: You need to have a way of sending automated emails and offers to your list. The two most popular autoresponders are Aweber(Aweber.com) and Getresponse(Getresponse.com). Prices are affordable, and they both offer tutorial videos to help get you started.

Good Content: Your emails have to be full of good content. Don't just send product offers all of the time. The key is to build a relationship with your list so they trust you and want to buy what you offer. In fact, I tend to send valuable content more than product offers. It's up to you how often you send an offer, but just remember that people appreciate good valuable content over being sold to. You will keep a subscriber longer by continuously sending good content. These are the basics of what you need to build your list. It may take some time depending on what traffic methods you use, but it is well worth the time and effort.
