Bum Marketing Method - Duplicate Content Penalty by:David Bocock

I received a question this morning concerning the duplicate content penalty

. Someone was wondering if they should submit their articles to a lot of different directories, or just a select few.

I've answered this question before but it keeps popping up all over the place, so here it goes again.

When it comes to the duplicate content penalty, there is just a couple of things you need to remember and don't let anyone else tell you any differently. You can not argue with the following logic:

Rule #1: Any content that you have on your website, blog, or Squidoo lens should be completely original and not submitted to any other site. It must be completely original to your site and your site only. Don't even use spun content...make it completely original so Google won't pick it up on a more powerful site somewhere and list it over your site.

Rule #2: If it is possible for your competition to try and penalize you for any reason, the search engines will not, and cannot penalize you for it.

If you write an article and put it on a thousand different directories, Google will list that article in the results of the site that is the highest in page rank and kind of ignore the rest. They won't lower your sites rank. Because if they did, and you DEFINITELY do not want to do this, a person could just submit a lousy article to an article submission service and point all the links back to their competition and lower their page rank based on duplicate content and rapid link building from low page ranked sites and that would totally suck... don't you think?

Advisor: if it is possible to sabotage the competition using certain techniques, Google will not even consider it, they just ignore it.

I know how you might be feeling right now... no one goes online looking for ways to make money if they already have enough. I was exactly where you are right now, not so long ago. I know how confusing and frustrating finding someone you can trust to teach you how to make money online I'm that guy though, and it won't cost you a penny to check out my site... although it may likely be the most important thing you do all day.
