2 Be careful in cutting down on marketing activities. The recession is not the time to cut back on marketing efforts, but the time to pick up your market share. You may not come ahead during the downtime, but you can pick up a good market share which will prove to be beneficial to you in the end. There's no way to know what will happen in the next months or year. You may get out of the economic downturn quickly or you may stay in the rut for a long time. But people will still need to purchase necessities, perfume, seek entertainment, and buy pet food. So, as the market slows down, don't slow down as well. Get your business cards, brochures, and postcard printing out there. Keep in mind that the best positioned business are the ones likely to survive.
