Buy Utility Poles That Last

All across the country there are a number of utility poles that stretch from coast

to coast carrying the electrical, telephone and cable wires high above the ground. Being able to deliver the needed utilities to the cities, neighborhoods and residences of North America the companies that install the structures are able to light, connect and entertain people throughout the land. As many of these utility poles are made of wood they do not age well. After two decades the wooden fixtures begin to rot or are infested by insects that weaken the structure. When a pole is damaged it needs to be replaced and this is where utility providers and municipalities can buy utility poles that an upgrade to their worn and weathered poles by using iron fabricated poles that can stand up to any abuse.

In my own neighborhood I have seen the utility poles replaced along the edge of a main road that was recently widened to accommodate the heavy traffic that traverses the artery into town. Being that the road needed to be extended out 10 feet on either side to make room for more cars commuting over it, the local utility company had to come out and buy utility poles that could then be placed a safe distance away from the curb where the older poles were positioned. By going up the embankment and away from traffic the utility company was able to set the new poles into place and keep them away from any traffic that could veer off the highway.

After the new utility poles were set in place and allowed to settle for a week the utility company returned and started the difficult task of moving the overhead wires from the old poles to the new ones. Taking their time to safely transfer the electrical and telephone wires over to each newly positioned adjacent pole, the crews were able to reconnect the lines without cutting off the power to the nearby residential neighborhoods. Being able to buy utility poles that are made of iron the city was able to reduce their cost of material and provide a long lasting solution to the delivery of the needed utility lines to the area. With the work completed after construction on the road expansion was finished the local homeowners were inconvenienced for about a month as the project was shut down to local traffic. However now that the road is open and the power and telephone lines are safely up high and out of the way, the traffic is flowing freely once again.
