Camarillo Makes Viking More Formidable In Next Nfl Season
The Minnesota Vikings is on the right track on its quest to become the Super Bowl champion in the 2010 National Football League season
. The Vikings recently acquired in a trade Greg Camarillo from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for cornerback Benny Sapp. The Vikings made the bold move after it signed veteran free agent Javon Walker. NFL experts said the decision of the Vikings is a good since Camarillo will ease the loss of Pro Bowler Sidney Rice who will miss at least the first half of the season after undergoing a recent hip surgery. and Percy Harvin who hasnt practiced much because of recurring migraines.
The loss of the two is a headache for Favre who will not have someone to pass barely two weeks left before the official start of the new NFL season.
Although not as productive as Rice and Harvin, Camarillo's acquisition is still a blessing for the Vikings since he is a deep threat. The newest member of the Vikings recently rebounded from a torn ACL in 2008 to catch 105 passes for 1,165 yards and two touchdowns over the last two years. The Dolphins for its part decided to trade Camarillo after he became expendable with the off-season acquisition of Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall.
The Dolphins also have Brian Hartline and Davone Bess at receiver.
Camarillo was a starter the past two years. Last season he made 50 catches for 552 yards and no touchdowns. Hell be best remembered in Miami for his 64-yard touchdown catch in overtime against Baltimore for the Dolphins lone victory in 2007.
