Can Pickups Be Scheduled To A House?

There are plenty of valid reasons why you might want your courier to pick up a package from your house rather than your place of business

. Maybe you work from home several days a week but still need to ship things out to your clients. Or, maybe your home is your business, and you don't even have a traditional office at all. In any case, if you want pickups to be made at your house, you're going to need an Atlanta delivery company that specializes in that sort of work.

This isn't to say that you can't get courier shipments picked up from your house. You certainly can. The only thing that you have to be aware of is that you might have to do some shopping between a few different courier companies in order to find one that is going to provide you with the exact type of service that you are looking for.

What you need is a company that offers something known as residential pickup or delivery service. They might also simply call it home courier service. Never assume without seeing this though that a courier will make pickups from your home. Many courier companies have policies against exactly that.

The reason some courier companies don't like to do this kind of work is because of the percentage of their business which comes from the business districts in the cities they work in. Because the vast majority of a courier's work comes from a business area, they are usually able to schedule several deliveries in rapid succession due to the pickup or drop off points being geographically near to each other. This usually doesn't happen on a residential pickup, making it less profitable for the courier company.

What this means is that you may have to pay your pickup from your house depending on the courier company you find that is going to offer you this service. There are courier companies that are primarily business couriers which have a special delivery option where they will make a pickup from a home, for a fee. There are also couriers who make this a very large part of their business to address the growing work from home marketplace, and have the same rates for home pickup as for a business pickup. Other companies on the other hand don't offer this service at all, so always be sure to check before you request a home pickup on a package.
