Can You Hear The Fathom Of Blackberry For New Market?
Some time ago, it was considered that Blackberry is primarily business users smartphone by choice
. As Blackberry offers some predominant features for e-mails and text communication, and as constant communication is getting imperative in the real life of corporate users Blackberry has become popular among them.
Now we see, Blackberry is courting new market where enthusiast users are moving around. Market experts say, facing competitions from other smartphones Blackberry is trying to find new market. Not only that, market analysts are going as far as to watch what is happening over Blackberry phenomenon, and their feedback is that as other smartphones are making a serious challenge to its stranglehold on the North American market, Research In Motion finds some success in Indonesia and other south Asian countries.
When the wireless smartphone was named after the BlackBerry in 1999, consumers accessed to a wide range of Blackberry applications like texting, Internet faxing, email, and web browsing etc and for these features Blackberry built its reputation on serving a business persons needs.
Further, Blackberry added more utility applications such as calendar, address book, document writers and readers, and sales and support dispatching services etc. All these features made Blackberry more akin to corporate audience.
But Blackberry could not mobilize many areas of day-to-day life like social networking, games, multimedia, travel, location-based services, finance and e-commerce etc. And at the same time other smartphones have already gathered more attention of enthusiast stiffs.
So Research In Motion has been dancing into the new market where users are typically average non-corporate consumers. There is certainly a sign of a changing climate in smartphone-land. Blackberry came up with later generations flagship device like the BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry Pearl etc. These additions have practically doubled RIM's BlackBerry sales. Now RIM has been releasing video footage for upcoming Blackberry 6.0 OS to make it the right answer to Android and iPhone. As a matter of fact, RIM is trying to make Blackberry more competitive, more appealing along with certain entertainment features.
But market analysts say, there is still a long way to go for RIM for the new market. According to them, the new targeted market is dominated by Nokia. Yet RIMs rise is worth noting as a potential threat.
But at the end of all stories, as it is the RIMs release, we hope people would dispose of their old handhelds and start picking up smartphones that may be particularly BlackBerry. And there would be a new swath of the population who are experiencing the promising BlackBerry addiction. So for now, we would keep hearing about the near future of smartphone market.
