Canon A1100 Powershot - An Easy Way Into Digital Photography
Until recently I was quite happy with my old film camera so writing about the Canon A1100 Powershot is not something I expected to be doing. I was comfortable using it and felt secure with the physical film and prints. It seemed somewhat worrying to have my pictures stored electronically - it was difficult to believe they would be as safe was when printed. I finally stepped in to the 21st Century when the Cannon was recommended to me and I'm very pleased I did.
Even if you've never used a digital camera before, with the Cannon A1100 Powershot you really can't go wrong. All you need to do to get started is to put it into auto mode. In this mode the camera automatically makes all the decisions for you which means that you can take great pictures right away. The camera is actually capable of much more than this but starting with auto mode enables the user to learn the other features in their own time, whilst still being able to take pictures.
So far the results I have had from this camera have been good. The pictures are sharp and look good even when enlarged. I was able to do this because the software that is supplied with this camera is very easy to use. It has some very helpful features such as remembering when you upload a picture to your computer and not uploading it a second time.
I now find the camera easy to use although I did find all the buttons a bit confusing at first. However, with the aid of the instruction booklet and a bit of trial and error I was able to figure everything out. I am still a bit worried about storing my pictures and am probably a bit obsessive about backups but I am definitely a convert to digital photography and am happy using my Canon A1100 Powershot.
